Terms of Service: Holdfast and Steadfast

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding legal agreement between you and Holdfast LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company located at 30 N Gould St Ste 67031, Sheridan, WY 82801 ("Holdfast LLC," "we," "us," or "our"), governing your use of the Holdfast mobile application, the Steadfast mobile application, and the Holdfast partner website (collectively, the "Apps" or "Services").

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the Apps, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not install or use the Apps.

Privacy Policies: Please review the Holdfast Privacy Policy and the Steadfast Privacy Policy, which explain how each App handles information.

1. Eligibility and who can use the Apps

• Holdfast: You must be at least 18 years old to use Holdfast or serve as a Holdfast accountability partner.
• Steadfast: You must be at least 13 years old to use Steadfast. If you are between 13 and the age of legal majority where you live, your parent or legal guardian must review and agree to these Terms on your behalf.
• Authorized devices only: You may install and use the Apps only on a device that you personally own or are legally authorized to manage for yourself.

2. License and intellectual property

• License grant: Subject to your compliance with these Terms and applicable app store rules, Holdfast LLC grants you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Apps on devices you own or control for your own personal, non-commercial use.
• Restrictions: We reserve all rights not expressly granted in these Terms. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, sublicense, or reverse engineer any part of the Apps or their blocklists, except to the extent such restrictions are prohibited by applicable law.
• Bible translations in Steadfast:
• Free translations at launch: Steadfast includes the King James Version (KJV) and the Berean Standard Bible (BSB) free of charge at launch.
• Steadfast Plus translations: Subscribing to Steadfast Plus unlocks the World English Bible (WEB), American Standard Version (ASV), and Young's Literal Translation (YLT), along with the Audio Bible.
• Public-domain Scripture texts retain their public-domain status; our software, user interface, audio compilations, and branding remain the property of Holdfast LLC and its licensors.

3. Accounts and partner accountability (Holdfast and optional partner linking)

• Accounts: Holdfast requires an email and password account for the device user and a separate account with a different email address for each accountability partner. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account.
• Accountability model: By pairing your device with an accountability partner (1 partner on Holdfast Free, or up to 3 partners on Holdfast Plus), you voluntarily authorize your linked partner(s) to approve or deny requests to Unlock, Lock, Allow protection off, Allow uninstall, Allow partner change, and Release NSFW Sharing, and to receive the status updates, tamper alerts, block signals, and weekly partner reports described in the Holdfast Privacy Policy.
• Choosing a partner: Only pair with trusted individuals. Partners agree to use partner controls in good faith and solely for the voluntary accountability purpose agreed to by the device user. If you need assistance unpairing or deleting your account, contact us at holdfast.helpdesk@gmail.com.

4. Subscriptions, features, and billing (Holdfast Plus and Steadfast Plus)

We offer optional auto-renewing subscriptions that unlock additional features in each App:

4.1 Holdfast Plus ($3.99/month or $29.99/year)

• Pricing: $3.99 per month or $29.99 per year (in US dollars; local currency pricing and applicable taxes may vary by country).
• Included features:
• Support for up to 3 accountability partners (compared to 1 partner on the free tier).
• Optional Cloud Image Check: Periodic, opt-in screen frame checks for explicit imagery (frames are checked in memory and immediately discarded).
• Weekly partner report: Automated weekly accountability summary reports for your linked partner(s).
• Custom block lists and custom app blocking: Add custom domains to your local DNS blocklist and choose custom apps or surfaces to block.
• Real-time tamper alerts: Immediate notifications to your partner(s) if protection settings, VPN status, Accessibility, Device Admin, or Safe Mode change.

4.2 Steadfast Plus ($1.99/month or $19.99/year)

• Pricing: $1.99 per month or $19.99 per year (in US dollars; local currency pricing and applicable taxes may vary by country).
• Included features:
• Audio Bible: Built-in audio playback so you can listen to Scripture read aloud.
• Extra Bible translations: Full offline access to the World English Bible (WEB), American Standard Version (ASV), and Young's Literal Translation (YLT), in addition to the King James Version (KJV) and Berean Standard Bible (BSB) included free at launch.
• Messaging and Marketplace unlocks: Unlocks access to Facebook Messages (FB Messages), Facebook Marketplace (FB Marketplace), and Instagram Direct Messages (IG DMs) inside managed apps. (Free earned Bible reading time unlocks general feeds in managed apps, but does not unlock FB Messages, FB Marketplace, or IG DMs.)

4.3 Billing, automatic renewal, and cancellation

• App store billing: All subscriptions are purchased and billed through Google Play (on Android) or the Apple App Store (on iOS).
• Automatic renewal: Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each monthly or annual billing cycle unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
• How to cancel: You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in the Google Play app (Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions) or in your Apple Account settings (Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions). Deleting or uninstalling the App does not automatically cancel an active subscription.
• Effect of cancellation and refunds: When you cancel, you retain access to Plus features through the end of the billing period you have already paid for, after which your account returns to the free tier. Refund requests are governed by Google Play's or Apple's applicable refund policies. You may also contact holdfast.helpdesk@gmail.com for billing support.
• Free trials and price changes: If a free trial is offered, any unused portion of the trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription. We may change subscription prices prospectively with advance notice as required by Google Play or Apple; price changes will take effect only at the next renewal period after notice.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Install or use the Apps to secretly monitor, track, stalk, control, or restrict another person's device without their explicit knowledge and ongoing consent.
• Use Holdfast partner controls to harass, coerce, abuse, or harm any person.
• Interfere with, overload, probe, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to our servers, Cloudflare Workers, partner web pages, or other users' accounts.
• Use the Apps in violation of any applicable local, state, national, or international law, or in violation of Google Play or Apple App Store policies.
• Circumvent subscription billing mechanisms or redistribute licensed content.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Acceptable Use rules.

6. Important disclaimers

• Not medical, psychological, or professional counseling. The Apps are voluntary self-commitment, digital well-being, and accountability tools. They are not medical devices, healthcare services, psychological therapy, addiction treatment, or professional counseling, and they do not replace care from a licensed professional. If you are experiencing a mental health or medical emergency, contact local emergency services or a qualified healthcare provider immediately.
• No content filter or app lock is 100% effective. Holdfast blocks many adult domains and in-app surfaces, and Steadfast locks managed social surfaces, but no filter can catch every website, image, or screen. New domains, encrypted DNS settings in third-party browsers, alternative VPNs, operating system updates, or layout changes inside third-party apps (such as Instagram or Facebook) can cause a block or lock to miss content or temporarily over-block.
• No affiliation with third-party apps. Holdfast LLC is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Meta, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X, Google, Apple, or any third-party application that you choose to manage with the Apps.
• Device settings and uninstall protection. Holdfast uses local DNS filtering (keep Android's "Block connections without VPN" turned off), Android Accessibility, and Android Device Admin to add uninstall friction and notify your partner of changes. An optional advanced Device Owner mode exists for users who manually provision their device via computer; only use advanced provisioning if you understand how to remove it. Operating system controls to disable VPNs, stop screen capture, or revoke permissions remain governed by your device's operating system.
• "AS IS" warranty disclaimer. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Apps and Services are provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE," without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:

• Holdfast LLC and its members, officers, employees, and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, loss of profits, device downtime, or exposure to unblocked content arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the Apps.
• Holdfast LLC's total cumulative liability for all claims relating to the Apps or these Terms will not exceed the greater of: (a) the total amount you paid to Holdfast LLC for the applicable App during the 12 months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) US $50.00.
• Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of liability for incidental or consequential damages, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.

8. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Holdfast LLC from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and reasonable expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your misuse of the Apps or your violation of these Terms.

9. Termination and account deletion

• By you: You may stop using the Apps at any time. For Holdfast, you can request full account and server data deletion at /account-deletion/ or by emailing holdfast.helpdesk@gmail.com. For Steadfast, you can clear local app storage or uninstall the app at any time.
• By us: We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services if you materially breach these Terms, or if we discontinue an App or service feature.
• Survival: Sections 2 (Restrictions), 6, 7, 8, 11, and 12 survive any termination of these Terms.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and publish the updated Terms at /terms/. For material changes, we will provide reasonable notice inside the Apps before the new Terms take effect. Your continued use of the Apps after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes your acceptance of those changes.

11. Governing law and venue

These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or the Apps are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Unless applicable consumer protection law in your jurisdiction requires otherwise, you and Holdfast LLC agree that any judicial proceeding relating to these Terms or the Apps will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in or serving Sheridan County, Wyoming, and both parties consent to personal jurisdiction and venue in those courts.

12. Google Play and Apple App Store supplemental terms

These Terms are between you and Holdfast LLC only, and not with Google LLC or Apple Inc. Neither Google nor Apple is responsible for the Apps, their content, maintenance, support, warranties, or addressing any claims relating to the Apps. When you download the Apps from Google Play or the Apple App Store, your use is also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service or the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions (including the Licensed Application End User License Agreement), as applicable, and Google or Apple (and their subsidiaries) are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms with respect to your license of the Apps on their respective platforms.
